07/02/2011 and 11/02/2011- BUCS Tryouts
We have a trip coming up soon for BUCS (British University and Collage Sport) on the 18th - 20th March but we need to enter a team for it. The competition will take place in the Peak District, one of the best climbing venues in the UK. There are 6 positions on the teams going, two teams of 3 mixed. To do it as fair as possible we are running tryouts on Monday and Friday.
Turn up at the Climbing Station on these dates, I will be there from 3pm on wards.

13/12/2010 - Guccmas Dinner at Barinis!!!
Christmas is coming up so we have our Chirstmas Meal! This year we will be returning to Barinis for an amazing meal, and an increidble night, just like last year! The meal will cost £10 for 2 courses, and a £5 deposit is required ASAP. The meal will be on the 13th December at a time I don't know yet! As soon as I know I will update this.
The dress code is formal, so suits and dresses.

10/12/2010 - Chirstmas Trip to North Wales
*TRIP IS NOW FULL!*
Hey Everyone,
As I have had lots of positive feed back off people about going up to North Wales before Christmas.
The plan is to go up on the 10th and come back on the 12th. We will arrive late on the 10th so we can find beer and have a good old pissup in the bunk house. Saturday we will go to the Becon centre and have a good old climbing session, and then a surprise in the evening and then Sunday we can either go back to the Becon centre, or try and find something outside that is not too dangerous.
As I am sure lot of you understand the weather will not be ideal for any sort of climbing all walking, very icey and snowy. But we can still go and play in the snow, just not at any altitude etc etc. The general idea of this trip is to relax before Christmas and have a good piss up.
Price will be between £25 and £30 depending on numbers. Money will be collected when we have confirmed the price by next Wednesday. Spaces are limited to 13 people, due to space on the minibus with kit. You will need warm clothes and a sleeping bag. A kit list will be given out on Friday to all of those who are up for the trip.

Unfortunately we are at maximum capacity and a bit more! If you are still interested in joining the club email me at josh.ovki@gmail.com I will put you on the reserve list. Usually we have a very high drop out rate for the first few weeks, so don't think it isn't worth while. For all of those that did get to sign up today I will drop you an email in the next couple of days.

01/08/2010 - Freshers
Hey Everyone,
We are going to officially start registering people for the climbing club at the freshers fayre which is on the 24th September. I am unsure on the location but it is usually in the Sports Center. On the day myself and the rest of the committee will be at our table signing people up. The committee is made up of:

On the day you will get the chance to sign up to 4 climbing sessions outdoors which will be run on the 9th&10th October (Sat & Sun), will be an AM and PM session. If you can't make either of them we will sign you up for coming to play on Wednesday on the indoor wall. If you can't make it to the freshers fayre don't worry just drop me an email at josh.ovki@gmail.com and we will try and sort something out. Numbers usually fill up quite quickly, so sooner you come see us better chance you get of coming on a trip!
We climb indoors at the university every Wednesday between 6:30 and 8:30, followed by post climbing drinks down at our local. We also run trips to North Wales, the Peak District, as of last year the Lake District, a mega summer trip AND local trips.
If you have never climbed before don't worry! As a club we will teach you everything you need to know to get started. We also have plenty of kit for you to use.
